History of the Dark Titan Universe Saga: Part 12: One-Shots

Welcome to the final part of “History of the Dark Titan Universe Saga”. A series of articles focused on the events within the Literary Dark Titan Universe.

Giving new readers who don’t mind SPOILERS and those whom have already read something pertaining to the series a look at what’s happened from the start and what’s to come with Dynasty Wars, the finale of the series releasing this Friday, December 6th. The final part of this series concludes with the One-Shot Stories.

  • Maveth, The Death-Bringer is a thriller One-Shot story which follows the titular character Maveth on a mercenary mission. Hired by Marion von Eldric, Maveth is tasked with traveling to the city of Retropolis to find his target. Upon his preparation, Maveth arrives in the northern city and scouts the perimeters necessary. during the night, Maveth finds his target and eliminates them, only to be seen by The Swordman with Maveth proclaiming their confrontation is yet to commence.

  • Mystery of The Mutant-Thing is a mystery/horror One-Story story, following Travis Vail The Spirit-Seeker and Gabriel Abraham The Devilhunter as they track down the cryptid Mutant-Thing. Gaining a fellow ally in the form of Cinderella, the three discover the Mutant-Thing's path and it led them to the outskirts of Retropolis. There, The Swordman aligns with them in solving the mystery. Upon entering the outskirt wilderness, the Mutant-Thing makes himself known and Vail considers the case closed as the Mutant-Thing will be a required ally for their future events.

  • Shade & Switchblade is a young-adult One-Shot story as it follows the two lovers fleeing one of the laboratories belonging to V.A.U.L.T., the armory company led by Marion von Eldric. while on the run, the two see a news headline detailing the formation of The Resistance and their victory at the Battle of Retropolis. Inspired by the rising heroes, the two agree to help those in need when necessary, hoping to chart their lives to a better form of living.

  • Retribution of Cain is a One-Shot story layered in mystery and intrigue as it centers on the titular character saving a village. Being thanked by the villagers, who do not know him, Cain sets his focus on larger opportunities, seeking to confront the so-called Risen Heroes.

  • The Mythologists is a One-Shot story placed within the confines of the mysterious and the conspiracy genres. Following Jacob Wilson, a young college student being introduced to mysterious titular group. Being given an opportunity to learn more of them and perhaps join them, Jacob arrived to one of their secretive meeting. Once inside, Jacob learned more about them and their purpose. Taking his leave after speaking with the one called Deimos, Jacob is confronted on his way home by The Visitant Outlander, who proclaims Jacob has just entered a side of reality he has no understand of. (More details of this story are featured in Part 7 of this series.)

  • Ambush Bot is an action-based One-Shot story as Nathan Hawke introduces a new android to help the civilians of Newark, New Jersey and across the world. During the night, the Hawke Industries building is broken into by a skilled warrior who called himself The Disintegrate. Afterwards, the android Nonagon entered and fought against the warrior before the android activated, aiding Nonagon and stopping The Disintegrate.

  • Kang-Zhu is a martial-arts One-Shot story following the titular character on his mission to uncover the plot a secret clan called the Warriors of the Claw. Arriving at a temple during the night in the outskirts of Mass City, Kang-Zhu is attacked by a dozen robed men. Fighting against them without caution, Kang-Zhu is aided by Gozen, who came to the temple for the same cause. After the fight, the two set out on uncovering the Warriors of the Claw's plans and their master's intents.

  • Cheeseburger Man is an action/comedy One-Shot story following Robert Shaw, the owner of Robert's Burger Joint as the restaurant is attacked by a deranged chef holding a cleaver. Unsure as to what's next, Shaw gathers his condiment-guns of ketchup and mustard to face the chef head-on. Taking the fight throughout the restaurant over the amount of customers, the chef warns Shaw of his return and to never forget the name of The Chopper. Shaw replies with a smile, twirling his condiment-guns.

  • Tessa Balthazar is an action/adventure One-Shot story following the titular character on a treasure hunt. Tessa discovers a mysterious object being held inside one of the warehouses belonging to The Outband, a criminal organization which uses weapons and technology not of this world. Sneaking inside, Tessa finds the object, a Cosmicbox. Fleeing the area, she is found by the Outband and their leader, Marcus "Beast" Bontade. After some smart talk, they engage in a shootout before the arrival of the Blacholian forces of Dagard and several Ophfiends end the battle. through the shocking reveal, Tessa makes her escape.

  • Elite Five is a military/sci-fi One-Shot story following the titular unit on a data mission to find Ezekiel McKnight. Surrounding a Glasco, Inc. base, the team enter and find their target, only to have the arrivals of Professor Mite and Marion von Eldric stumble their plans. Before their talk was over, a nubreed entered the room and engaged in a battle with the team. with Ezekiel, Mite, and Eldric making their escape at the hands of The Marine.

This final chapter concludes the History of the Dark Titan Universe Saga series. The final installment, Dynasty Wars releases this Friday wherever books are sold.
