History of the Dark Titan Universe Saga: Part 11: Spin-Offs

Welcome to Part 11 of “History of the Dark Titan Universe Saga”. A series of articles based on the Dark Titan Universe Saga.

Giving new readers who don’t mind SPOILERS and those whom have already read something pertaining to the series a look at what’s happened from the start. Continuing the series with the five Spin-Offs of the Dark Titan Universe Saga.

 
 

In a Glass of Dawn: The Casebook of Travis Vail: The first Spin-Off of the series. In a Glass of Dawn: The Casebook of Travis Vail chronologically takes place before and during the main series. The first nine stories are set before the events of Dark Titan Knights with the tenth story being in both Glass of Dawn and Dark Titan Knights. Now, beginning with the first nine stories.

  • The Tale of The Haunting was the first chronological story featuring Travis Vail on a paranormal investigation to an old mansion where an ancient Indian burial ground was discovered. Vail went ahead and investigated the land, only to come up against an unseen figure. Vail was not harmed in the investigation, but learned that the land was indeed haunted.

  • Prayers For The Dead followed Vail and his mentor Dr. Galen Donovan on an investigation to an abandoned church, finding symbols of pentagrams made in blood on the floors and feeling intense heat from beneath the ground, Vail came into contact with his arch-nemesis, Vernon Lance. Lance is a man who’s well-delved in the arts of witchcraft and a formidable foe for Vail even to this day.

  • A Lost Girl followed Vail heading to a suburban neighborhood in helping a family figure out what was happening with their daughter. Upon Vail’s arrival and knowledge, he discovered the young girl was being controlled by a spirit only known as Leta, the Lost Girl spirit. Vail returned to the family home and exorcised the spirit from the young girl and the land. Leta was gone and the family was cleared. Although, Vail knew it wouldn’t be the last time he came into conflict with Leta.

  • Locked for Eternity detailed Vail’s investigation into a prison which had been abandoned and left for years. Following Vail on this investigation was Colton Levi, a young apprentice to Vail in the paranormal field, While investigating, they both realize the spirits which were once prisoners are still trapped within the walls and seeking a way out.

  • Case of The White Lady followed Vail to Scotland where he embarked on the urban legend of the White Lady. Vail went on this trip alone and search out Huntly Castle for the spirit. Not finding her, but only the spirit of a young boy. Vail went to the prison of the same name in switched and found the White Lady. Sending her away into the spiritual realm where she may find rest.

  • Salem Witch Trials followed Vail and Dr. Donovan to Massachusetts where they investigated the Salem Witch House to investigate the apparent sightings of deceased witches and those affiliated with the Salem Witch Trials. While investigating, they came across several spirits and one spoke out her name. Giving them conformation that the spirits are here and will not leave.

  • The Fog from Within focused on Vail’s mystery into an supernatural fog where spirits dwell within. Vail traveled across many parts of the United States to find the Fog from Boulder, Colorado to Topeka, Kansas, and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Vail came into contact with the Fog in full while in Tulsa and saw the spirits which lived within the mist whom resembled soldiers from the American Civil War. Vail returned to Topeka and Boulder, telling the people of the Fog’s existence. Confirming their sightings.

  • The Revenancy Voyage followed Vail and Colton Levi to Charleston, South Carolina where they investigated a proposed ghost ship called The Revenancy. Later during the investigation, Colton came into contact with the apparition of the ship’s deceased Captain along with several other events. Vail was told of the sighting and confirmed the ship is indeed haunted.

  • The Forest of The Vanishing followed Vail investigating a strange forest just outside of Seattle, Washington where he found shrines from Celtic origin and missing children. Vail entered the forest and found himself surrounded by strange druids, whom conformed the missing children and people of the city. They had become members of the druid cult. Vail tried to set them free, but the hold on them was too great, there Vail had sent them away, breaking their hold on this world from the next. Vail told the people of the city concerning the forest and what he saw.

  • The Abandoned Hotel is the tenth story of the book and chronology takes place during the events of Dark Titan Knights. The story follows Vail investigating the Black Raven Hotel, a place which has been closed due to demonic hauntings. The hotel itself has thirteen floors and Vail investigated all of them alone. Vail came into contact with many spirits on each floor before making it to the thirteen, where he was confronted by Kamagrauto. A powerful demon who proclaimed itself to be a lieutenant demon and servant to Dagor The Soul Eater. Vail spoke with Kamagrauto, for the demon was highly intelligent and knew of Vail’s past experiences and all the investigations he’s completed. Kamagrauto told Vail concerning his future of a world working alongside others like himself against greater forces than mere ghosts and demons. Vail did not believe the demon’s words of others like himself existing except for Donovan, Colton, and the minor others. Yet, Vail’s world would grow in Tales of the Numinous, confirming Kamagrauto’s words.

Maveth: Bloodsport: The second Spin-Off of the series. Placing the center of attention upon Maveth, The Death-Bringer. Taking place in between Books 4 and 5 of the series. Maveth is contacted by Marion von Eldric concerning a prized case. Maveth takes the job and sets out on cashing in. Upon, his discovery, Maveth finds himself in a battle with more mercenaries and assassins all fighting for the same prize. Marion introduces the assassins and mercenaries to each other through communications.

Maveth has some words with Kane and Lynch. Offering the chance for all of them to take the prize by any means. Maveth confronts Marion about the situation before finding himself in a wealthy ball facing Deadon the Commando and The Bandit. Tessa Balthazar is found by Cartavious Cage, who is knocked unconscious by Cain. Maveth and Gunbaine end up in a shootout of the ball against Deadon and Bandit. Elsewhere, the Exchange Force collides with Lynch and Kane. Maveth takes a moment to train up on his firefighting skills. Now, the course takes the mercenaries to a wealthy private island to find a secret briefcase containing intel on V.A.U.L.T.’s competitions.

Finding themselves facing T.I.T.A.N. agents, led by Agent Marshall Henshaw. Cain faces Deadon and Bandit in a battle which he easily wins. Later, Maveth and Gunbaine team up to face the Exchange Force. At the V.A.U.L.T. headquarters, J meets with Marion about a secret deal, until Kex Kendrick and A.B. enter the room. Tessa Balthazar interferes the scene as she assists Maveth and Gunbaine after being chased by Lynch The Hunter and Kane The Mercenary. Maveth, Gunbaine, and Tessa face Lynch and Kane inside the mansion. Cain battles the Exchange Force. Eventually defeating them, the three are confronted by Cain. Cain defeats Gunbaine and Balthazar with ease. Leaving Maveth standing against him. The final fight of the prize is set between Maveth and Cain. Maveth defeats Cain, earning Cain’s respect and is greeted by Sir Onyx, who offers him another chance at facing The Swordman. Maveth takes the offer and disappears.

The Curse of The Mutant-Thing: The third Spin-Off of the series. The supernatural aspects of the series returns with this mystery story, taking place after the events of Book 3 and during Books 4 and 5.

The Mutant-Thing remains in the outskirts of Retropolis after assisting Heaven’s Called against Demonticronto. Now, the creature finds something disturbing, something which is having an effect on the elements of the earth. Mutant-Thing heads off toward the nearest portion of the effect. Meanwhile, Winnipeg Detectives Cole Yeager and Lewis Knight have been assigned to investigate the series of murders that have been said to been caused by nature herself. Cassandra Day, a reporter comes in to work alongside the police to investigate the mysterious murders.

During a search, Yeager and Knight discover a set of dead bodies laying in the middle of a pile of dead animals. Cassandra Day meets with Morhana, a sorceress who’s senses a disturbance in the earth’s elements. Detectives Cole and Lewis meet with Dr. Larry Grint, a scientist who’s come across the scenes of the murders. Cole and Lewis return to the body sight, only to be frightened by a figure in the trees, later they tell others of the event, only to discover the urban myth of the Environment Man. A being which is said to be around the locations of deceased animals and humans. During a check at a possible site, Cole and Lewis are ambushed by the Cult.

Overwhelmed by their numbers, the Mutant-Thing arrives and slaughters the clergy before bellowing into the ground. Cassandra continues her study as she visits Dr. Grint. Detective Yana Salvatore arrives in Winnipeg to help with the case. Cole and Lewis meet with Detective Yana as they interrogate Waid Givens, a man who is suspected to be involved with the murders. Waid tells them to search the cemetery.

Detective Chris Harper comes into the case after orders from Chief Bill Thompson. Cassandra heads out into the wilderness to discover an energetic disturbance, which she was told by Morhana. Before being chased by the Killertaur and saved by the Mutant-Thing. Dr. Grint increases work on his project, creating a hybrid of both man and beast. Detective Yana and Harper speak with James Marston, a scientist who’s created a suit to control the climate. Cassandra is visited by the Visitant Outlander, who tells her the origins of the Mutant-Thing. Cole and Lewis are led out to a cemetery where they are visited by the Restoration Man before being helped by the Ghost of England. The following day, Pablo Lopez speaks with the detectives, warning them of Dr. Grint’s true nature. They research Grint’s history, discovering a man by the name of Timothy Fegan who went into a top secret project which was managed by Grint and the Canadian Government.

Cole, Lewis, and Cassandra return to Grint’s lab. Which he exposes he true nature and unleashes his ultimate creation in The Hybrid. The creature attacks the detectives before breaking out of the lab and running out toward the city. The Mutant-Thing senses the Hybrid’s essence and travels out toward it. The Hybrid attacks Winnipeg as the police arrive to fend it off. Elsewhere, Cole and Lewis with Cassandra track down Dr. Grint, who’s fled underground into his secondary lab. In the lab, Grint sets up several booby traps of small dwarfish creatures to slow down the detectives. Although, they fail, Lewis runs up to Grint with attacks. Grint shocks Lewis with a taser only to be shot in the leg by Cole.

The Hybrid continued havoc in the city, until the ground quaked and the Mutant-Thing rose. The Mutant-Thing rises in Winnipeg and fights against The Hybrid. Afterwards, the Mutant-Thing shows its compassion towards the detectives and Cassandra before turning into mist and vanishing. Dr. Grint is caught by the authority, but commits suicide to avoid imprisonment. Cole and Lewis continue to solve more cases, finding one which is placed in the city of Retropolis. Cassandra returns to her home in Vancouver to find Doctor Fortune sitting inside, seeking to ask questions.

Trail of Vengeance: The fourth Spin-Off of the series. Taking place before all the events of the series aside from The Targeted short story in Dark Titan Knights. This Spin-Off serves as a sequel to the short story following the adventures of The Lone Outlaw.

The Lone Outlaw, Clint Winston arrives in Silver City after killing The Four Hats. Thaine Tucker also enters Silver City, looking to collect his share of the brothel business. Lieutenant Cullen Mason gives his assistant, Jack London to investigate the search of both Winston and Tucker. Afterwards, London heads to city hall to speak with the Governor. The Governor tells London that everything is under control in Silver City. Tucker arrives in Silver City, while in the bar, he confronts London, who commands the officers to arrest him. Outlaw battles Constantine Welles in the climax. Winston is now the target to Duke Rogers, known as Longshot, a western hitman. Thaine continues to take over John’s Brothel and ruin Silver City’s wealth. Winston confronts another criminal that’s stolen gold from Silver City and working for an outside force. The force sends their assassin, Ada Red to kill Winston. Jack London leads a crew of soldiers to track down Tucker.

Elsewhere, Longshot investigates the old shack, seeing that Winston was gone. Winston tracks down Ray Weldon, a miner who also works with criminals in an illegal gold trade. Meanwhile, Tucker sneaks into Silver City Hall for information regarding Lieutenant Cullen and the government’s plans. Winston comes into direct contact with another individual who wants justice. Though, this Vigilantress wants to be the only one to do so. Lieutenant Cullen leads a manhunt against The Vigilantress. Though, she needs help from The Outlaw himself. Winston does some justice throughout Maverick Town as he fights off the criminals that surround it. The Vigilantress comes him, warning of Cullen’s men arriving.

Outlaw comes into contact with London about Cullen’s future plans. Outlaw must save the Vigilantress to save himself from Cullen’s soldiers and their attempt to murder them in the town. Outlaw comes to the rescue of a young man who later becomes an ally of his vigilance. Tucker goes on a deep mission to assassinate Cullen. Thaine travels to the towns of the Old West to grant his wishes before the soldiers come to kill them all. Outlaw and Tucker are on the same mission to assassinate a Civil general, as they’re being hunted by a group of Cullen’s soldiers.

Outlaw is trapped in the corner as Ada Red and Longshot track him down throughout Dodge City. Tucker’s Brothel is burned down with the rest of Maverick Town. The finale as hell breaks loose when Winston and Tucker are caught between the crosshairs of Lieutenant Cullen and his military. After escaping the explosions, Outlaw and Tucker are running through the woods and stumble upon an Indian Tribe. The Lone Kid and The Vigilantress will also appear.

War of The Thunder Gods: The fifth Spin-Off of the Series. A story of warfare between three thunder gods across the realms. Two unknown men fly through the skies of Eragard, not being noticed. Later, Theus and others prepare for battle against the trolls of Bidavellir, lead by Ukko. During the battle, Theus and Ukko fight it out, with fistful blows to each other. Above them are the two unknown men, who fly down and clear out the entire area. Theus and the others look in front of them, seeing the two men. One holding a hammer and the other holding a hammer/axe staff. Theus asks for their names, the one holding the hammer is named Zhor, and the other is Taraino. They themselves are Gods of Thunder.

Theus and the others try to understand why Zhor and Taraino have come to Eragard and how they both are Thunder Gods. Theus goes and interrogates Noldar concerning the foreign gods. Sensing a possible energy of the Olympian Gods, Theus contacts Taltus to aid him in the fight. Taltus arrives to aid Theus against the trolls and the two Thunder Gods. Elsewhere, Theus learns of the king of the dark elves, Emperor Voldor desires to speak with him concerning the foreign gods. Meanwhile, Eden and Meredith speak with the two gods, proclaiming them to be false gods sent to test Eragardia’s defenses. Zhor and Taraino clash with each other as the Mighty Trio and Lady Soya attempt to hold them back from destroying Eragard.

It’s a War of the Thunder Gods as Theus, Zhor, and Taraino fight it out for the title of Thunder God. Taltus attempts to aid Theus before the sudden attack from Emperor Voldor, leading to the titagod clashing with the dark elf. The dark elves arrive to aid their Emperor until the Wraith Knight of Shadoheim arrives with his forces to hold the dark elves back. In the end of the battle, Hadi, the Millennium Goddess of Death arrives and takes Zhor and Taraino into her realm, where they will remain until the end of days.

The next and final chapter of this series will set focus toward the ten One-Shot Stories of the series.
