The Resistance Protocol is the beginning of the saga following the six primary characters (The Swordman, Taltus, The Nano Man, Commander Norland, Theus, and The Unstoppable Beast). Book 1 follows them, excluding Theus on their own individual journeys against foes alike all leading up to their first encounter and the formation of The Resistance. This one might be a long read.

The details of the six stories featured in Book 1 are below:

  • Hallow Sword: The Utopia Conspiracy: The first story of the Hallow Sword arc follows The Swordman on a trail in finding the crime lord known as Sir Onyx. Upon finding him after defeating his goons, his plans are faltered by the surprise appearance of John Terror, who clashes with Swordman in a sword-fight, giving way for Onyx to escape. After their bout, Terror tells Swordman he’s in Retropolis on the trail of The Party People, due to details of their boss operating out of Retropolis. Jacques Conley. Known in the criminal underworld simply as J while, Swordman and Terror are confronted by the Huntswoman, who aids them against the Exchange Force, a group of armored mercenaries who were hired by Onyx. J presented a strange artifact and from it emerged three beings. The Bigfoot, The Bird-Thing, and Dyclos, The Immortal Werewolf. The Swordman, Terror, and Huntswoman arrived in the city and fought against the three beasts. Terror fought against Bird-Thing, Huntswoman against Bigfoot, and Swordman against Dyclos. Dyclos knew of the sword’s history, speaking of past Swordmen he’s fought. The Swordman defeated Dyclos in battle, however, the werewolf vanished without a trace as did the other beings. The Swordman discovered the crime lords’ base and fought against J in a sword-fight of their own. The Swordman bested J and defeated him before the police could arrive. Slade and Carr fled before the fight. The next day, Kenari headed down into the swordlair to discover, Colonel Evan Nader was inside waiting for him with something of importance, to which Kenari was keen to hear.

Taltus bested the creature while Stephanie and Alex Havens confronted Kex Kendrick in his office concerning his plans for the titagod. Taltus later arrives in Oval Town, a small sister city to Enigma and is ambushed by Colosso, the giant ape. Another creature sent by Zeus. The two battle, destroying much of the small town before Zeus himself appears, taking the beaten Colosso back to Olympus. Taltus arrives at Kendrick Corporations building, saving Stephanie and Alex from a sudden attack. Taltus and Kex spoke before Zeus reappeared, striking Taltus where the two battled in the mountains. The battle ended at a stalemate with Zeus disappearing. Afterwards, Kex and Beatrice Mercer prepare to take a trip to Retropolis to meet with a certain “pale-faced” woman, Stephanie reads up on some news regarding the Nano Man and a particular Beast which was sighted in Canada.
